9/11: Flight 93 Recordings
SHANKSVILLE, Pa. (CBS) ―
When 19 terrorists hijacked four U.S. airliners and targetted civilian buildings on the East Coast, three of the terror groups succeeded. The fourth did not.
Average Americans rose up on United Airlines Flight 93. Realizing they were to be sacrificed to murder their fellow citizens and that their lives would be lost, they stormed the cockpit, and prevented the terrorists from striking another target on 9/11, believed to be either the Capitol building or the White House.
They took down the fourth plane, and won a victory that neither the government nor the military was able to accomplish on September 11, 2001.
Trace the events on Flight 93 through the recorded tapes from that day.
