Lonnie Quinn

Lonnie Quinn joined WCBS-TV in April 2007 and serves as the weathercaster for CBS 2's 5PM, 6PM, and 11PM weekday newscasts.

Quinn comes to WCBS from WTVJ-TV (NBC 6) in Miami, where he served as the weather anchor on "Today in South Florida".  He also co-hosted a daily talk show, "South Florida Today".  

During the 2005 hurricane season, Quinn worked closely with Max Mayfield at the National Hurricane Center tracking the most active tropical season in history.  He also joined the Hurricane Hunters collecting data as they flew through the eye of Hurricane Isabel off the coast of North Carolina.

Prior to WTVJ, Quinn worked at WVIR in Charlottesville, Va. as evening news anchor and weekend weather anchor.  Before that, he worked at several different stations in Charlottesville including WADA-TV, as an on-air personality at WQMZ-FM, and as morning show co-host and news director at WVAO-FM.

While at WTVJ, Quinn received an Emmy Award for "Best on Air Talent." He is a sports fanatic and was a competitive swimmer in college.
Quinn graduated from Boston College magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in speech communications and holds a meteorology certificate from the FAA. A native of Cheshire, Connecticut, he currently resides in Manhattan.
