Around The Blogosphere

The Blogosphere is a virtual community of millions of Web logs -- Web sites run by everyday people from around the world, posting their opinions on a litany of topics online. And it is a vibrant one, with bloggers of a great variety of backgrounds, educations, and specializations. It is within this community that college professors and soldiers, musicians and engineers, teachers and journalists, and others meet and discuss political news every day. Here's what the bloggers are talking about.

If you find a blog or blog posting that you find interesting, we'd like to know.

Learning from Mistakes? Not So’s You’d Notice

Comments From Left Field: "Paul Krugman sees economic policy makers on the verge of losing their nerve, just like they did in the 1930s." (posted 6/15, 4:02 pm)

Biden Admits Republicans Were Right About Stimulus

RWN: "First off, 'everyone' didn't guess wrong on the stimulus. Only 3 Republicans total (2 now that Arlen Specter has switched parties) in all of Congress voted for the stimulus package. The biggest reason why Republicans didn't support the stimulus was because of the cost: more than $1.2 billion dollars plus. However, many people, myself included, noted that the stimulus wouldn't actually stimulate the economy. For example on Feb 10, three days before the stimulus package passed, I had a column out called, 'The Top Six Problems With the Stimulus.'

Will the Blue Dogs keep Iran from getting American cash?

Hot Air:  "Erick Erickson has kept Red State readers abreast of the battle over a $100 billion proposal to bail out the IMF. The vote on this package got pushed into this week, and the unrest in Iran has given the debate a lot more relevance than just an economic policy." (posted 6/15, 3:15 pm)

Asra Nomani: Fighting for the Soul of Islam

Chesler Chronicles: "Asra Q. Nomani is best known for many things. A former Wall Street Journal reporter, she is also the author of 'Standing Alone: An American Woman's Struggle for the Soul of Islam'. Nomani is a religious Muslim feminist who organized the first-ever woman-led, mixed-gender Islamic prayer group in New York City in 2005, and who made a good faith effort to bring her hometown mosque in Morgantown, West Virginia into the twenty-first century, both in terms of women and tolerance." CIA Director: Cheney Seems To Be Jonesing For Americans To Die Or Something

Ace Of Spades: "Remember when questioning someone's patriotism was bad and dissent was what all the cool kids were doing? Now it's fine to claim someone wants to see Americans killed in an attack simply because they had the temerity to criticism Obama." (posted 6/15, 2:32 pm)

Iran Rioters Unlikely To Get Much Support From Postmodern Pres. Obama

Victor Davis Hanson: "They're rioting in Iran over a probably fraudulent election and the use of violence to suppress dissent — part of the 'robust' debate that President Obama just welcomed. Meanwhile, the 'optional' and orphaned war in Iraq, which led to real democracy, is now, after January 20, mysteriously once again a sign of the 'winds of change'." (posted 6/15, 1:26 pm)

Biden questions Cheney's judgment on national security

Crooks And Liars: "Vice President Joe Biden told NBC's David Gregory that he questioned former Vice President Dick Cheney's judgement for criticizing President Barack Obama policies on national security.
