Bloomberg To Honor Yankees In City Hall Ceremony

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Following the Yankees World Series ticker-tape parade in the Canyon of Heroes on Friday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the champions with keys to the city during a congratulatory celebration at City Hall.

The ceremony will start at 1 p.m. on City Hall plaza, and Mayor Bloomberg is even giving 500 lucky fans the chance to be front and center for the excitement. A public giveaway took place Thursday afternoon, with registration for tickets ending at 4 p.m.

Winners of the ticket giveaway will be notified about when and where to pick up tickets.

Those unable to get access to City Hall Plaza can still get in on the action. The sidewalks lining the parade route along Broadway from Battery Place to Chambers Street are open to all members of the public, and the City will set up a large screen near City Hall Park for members of the public to watch the subsequent ceremony.
