Defiant Hillary Unveils '2 Minutes To Play' Plan

Clinton's New Tactic: Prove Only She Can Beat The GOP

NEW YORK (CBS) ― It's push the panic button time for Hillary Clinton.

After 10 losses since Super Tuesday she faces a must-win situation in Ohio and Texas on March 4.

She began her day among friends here in New York.

Wrapped in the hugs and kisses of her friends, Clinton began the fight to keep her presidential hopes alive.

"This campaign goes on," she said. "This campaign moves forward.

"It's is time to get real, to get real about how we actually win this election and get real about the challenges facing America. It's time that we move from good words to good works, from sound bites to sound solutions."

Those were the fighting words from New York's junior senator, who on Wednesday offered a retooled attack on rival Barack Obama.

"Name one accomplishment," she asked the crowd to thunderous applause.

Democratic Party sources say if Hillary doesn't win in Ohio and Texas she may have to fold her presidential tents. To win, experts say, she will have to execute her political plays perfectly.

"This is much more than two minutes left to play, you're down by 10, what do you do the win," said David Birdsell of Baruch College. "Victory its still possible to do."

Part of the two-minutes-to-go strategy is to make the case that she will do better against John McCain and the Republican attack machine because, well, she's used to it.

"The only candidate who knows how to respond is Hillary Clinton because when they take out the two by four she'll be ready with her four by eight to hit them back twice as hard," Sen. Charles Schumer said.

Supporters say you go girl.

"(Obama) may have a lot of momentum, but she has experience," said Ann Marie Deangelo of Manhattan. "It's not over."

"She has the argument to make that she's ready to be president," said Chenault Spence of Manhattan.

"Barack is a fabulous speaker," said Pamela Hayes of Manhattan. "He has a lot of support but it sort of fades in the end."

"She's tried and true," said Claudine Bacher of Key Largo, Fla. "She's ready. She's ready from day one."

So the pressure's on for Clinton and the next two weeks could be the most important of her political life.

Clinton will have an opportunity to take on Sen. Obama Friday night as they face off in a one-on-one debate in Austin, Texas.

Bill Clinton is already there and confident.

"If you want the solution, not the speech, then it is a clear choice," the former president said.
