Hillary Focuses On Immigration, Not Obama, In N.J.

Hillarly Clinton took time off from her war of words with Barack Obama to address the issue of immigration with Hispanic voters in North Bergen, N.J., on Jan. 23.

Hillary Clinton was stumping for votes in New Jersey on Wednesday night, courting a largely Hispanic audience.
But the verbal sparring with rival Barack Obama rages on.
While feuding went on, on the campaign trail Sen. Clinton focused on immigration before a crowd of Latino voters in North Bergen.
"We need to tell people they (can) come out of the shadows. We register them. If they have committed a crime in this country or the country they came from, they should be deported. That is absolutely what should happen," Clinton said.
There was no mention of Obama, but the Illinois senator had plenty to say about Clinton earlier Wednesday.
At a rally in Rock Hill, S.C., Obama questioned Sen. Clinton's trustworthiness, saying she has indulged in double-talk on bankruptcy laws and trade.
"You can't tell what Sen. Clinton's position on trade is," Obama told the crowd. "Sen. Clinton said, 'Well, I voted for it but I hoped the bill would die.'"
Former President Bill Clinton campaigned in South Carolina on behalf of his wife and spent part of the day defending her toughness.
"She just keeps going," he told voters in Charleston. "And yet she has to live with the smears and the slime and the stuff that people would put on her all those years and she gets up everyday and goes to work."
Current polls have Sen. Obama ahead in South Carolina by about 20 points. Sen. Clinton's focus now is New York, New Jersey and the Super Tuesday primaries on Feb. 5.
"Let's go win, making history," she said to rousing applause from the North Bergen crowd.
The New York senator also campaigned in Philadelphia on Wednesday, picking up an endorsement from Pennsylvania's governor along the way.
