CHICAGO (AP) ― Barack Obama says he's confident the Democratic Party will be united in the fall, despite the hits he's taking from rival Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama put another win in his column Tuesday night with his victory in the Mississippi primary.

Clinton has been increasingly aggressive in questioning his qualifications. Earlier in the day, his campaign denounced comments by Geraldine Ferraro, a Clinton fundraiser and 1984 vice presidential candidate, that Obama only got this far because he's black.

Obama said on CNN he's been measured in criticizing Clinton and he's not sure she's been so restrained.

Still, he said the stakes are so high that Democrats will rally behind the nominee.
