Police Chase In NJ Ends In 2 Arrests, Officer Hurt


Police in Belleville, New Jersey chased this vehicle into nearby Newark on Thursday morning, ending in two arrests and an officer injured.

A wild police chase ended with gunshots in Newark early Thursday morning, sending an officer and a suspect to the hospital. Cops tried to arrest two men around 2:15 a.m. outside a Burger King on Broadway after they spotted the suspects attempting to break into cars in Belleville. The suspects sped away, driving south into Newark where they tried to run down a Belleville officer on Herbert Place, injuring his arm. The officer fired shots into the vehicle and hit one of them as they drove deeper into Newark.

30-Year-Old Queens Man Killed In Hit-And-Run
New York Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that allegedly struck and killed a 30-year-old Queens man and then fled the scene early Friday morning. The name of the victim has not been released, as authorities are still in the process of notifying his family. Officials said they are hoping any eyewitnesses to the accident come forward, as they so far have very little to go on.

41-Year-Old Queens Man Killed In Hit-And-Run
Police are on the scene of a deadly hit-and-run in Flushing Friday morning, CBS 2 HD has learned. Police say a 41-year-old Queens man was struck and killed on the corner of 149th Street and Sanford Avenue just before 4 a.m. There were no witnesses to the accident, but police say the vehicle was trying to make a U-turn when it struck the victim.
