An ordinary morning commute took a terrifying turn after a car plowed into a crowded bus stop.
Chopper 2 HD caught the frantic scene in Douglaston, Queens just before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
According to a witness account, speed was a factor as a white sedan came down Douglaston Parkway, near 65th Avenue, and careened into a packed bus shelter.
"I don't even think he screeched, or hit any brakes," said an unidentified witness.
Police confirmed a total of seven people were hurt, including the unidentified driver.
"I don't know if he was conscious or not, but the medics were working on him," added the witness.
A friend of a male victim described his condition.
"He's in the hospital right now. He has two broken arms, a broken leg. It's very very tragic right now," said Jessica Alvarez.
"I don't know, I'm just really scared. I take this bus every day. I don't know how this happened. It's very very terrifying," added Alvarez.
Police have not filed any criminal charges, saying as of now that the incident was just an accident.
