NYC Program Allows Parking Ticket Fine Discount

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) ― A little-known city program has been offering drivers with parking tickets an option to pay a reduced fine.

Since 2005, drivers who challenge their parking tickets are offered reduced ticket fines if they forego a hearing and plead guilty to the ticket.

But the settlement program is low profile, and the vast majority of people who get parking tickets don't challenge them.
