1 Dead, 2 Injured In Newark Airport Shuttle Crash

A FedEx carrier and a hotel shuttle bus collided near Newark Liberty Airport early Wednesday morning. At least one person was killed, and several others sustained injuries in the accident on July 22, 2009.

One person is dead and two others critically injured after a courtesy bus crash at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says a shuttle operated by the Newark airport Marriott and a First Transit bus contracted by FedEx to carry employees collided head-on along South Service Road around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The shuttle bus driver was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark.
Port Authority spokesman Mike Hall says a shuttle passenger and the driver of the bus remain hospitalized.
No names have been released.
Port Authority police are investigating the crash.
Chopper 2 HD was over the scene of the accident. The courtesy bus seemed to have absorbed the brunt of the impact, with most of its front end crushed in.
