Man Stabbed On S.I., Then Drives Car Before Dying
STATEN ISLAND (CBS) ―
New York City police say a man who was stabbed got into his car and drove a couple of blocks before he crashed into a tree and died.
Lt. John Grimpel says the 43-year-old man was stabbed in the torso sometime before the crash early Thursday on Staten Island. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Richmond University Hospital.
Chopper 2 HD was live over the scene in the New Brighton section of the borough. Police responded to a 911 call from 155 Beechwood Avenue.
In a separate incident, another man was stabbed multiple times in his back in his Bronx apartment.
Emergency medical technicians pronounced 63-year-old David Holmond dead at the scene late Wednesday.
Police offered no possible motive for either stabbing. No arrests have been made.
