Quality Beauty Products Don't Have To Break Bank

DALLAS (CBS) ― Who hasn't been tempted by outrageously expensive beauty products?  But women may not have to 'pay the price'.  There are a lot of great products for a fraction of the price available at your local drugstore.

Tired of spending a lot on expensive mascara or shadow but still want to look like Beyonce?

"Just because you pay more doesn't mean you are getting more," said Bridget Doherty of Woman's Health magazine.

Experts found the best 34 drugstore beauty finds.

"They found products all of which were under $20 that work as well if not better," said Doherty.

One of those products was ROC Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle serum.  "Women's Health's dermatologist says this is the best product on the market over the counter, either in a drugstore or high-end boutique, and it's only $20," said Doherty.

Now more than ever, women are looking for beauty bargains.

"I'm always looking for a sale, because I'm on a budget right now," said Ky Smith.  Toya Anderson joked, "$18 lip gloss or $2 lip gloss? Hmmm ... $2 lip gloss!"

How about a product that can help you look and feel good for less than $4? Burt's Bees replenishing lip balm costs just $3.30.

"You can use it on your lips, and a little bit of pomegranate oil gives it a nice shade," Doherty explained. "But if you are in a pinch, you can put it on your cheeks, and it acts as a beautiful natural blush."

As for the eyes, the experts love L'Oreal Voluminous Volume Building mascara.  Doherty thinks it's a winner saying, "It's only $5 yet has the perfect consistency -- not too thick, not too thin." As for color, Doherty recommends Cover Girl Eye Slicks. They're actually a gel. She claims they outlast any shadow and are easier to apply.  "This goes on real even, real smoothly.  And what we love about this color Pewter is, it's natural, it's neutral, it goes with any skin tone or eye color."

CVS store brands had winners as well, including a foaming face cleanser for $6 and travel-size cotton swabs to touch up for only 50-cents.

It's all keeping you looking like a million without actually spending it and no one has to know your secret.
