Consumer Watch: Web Sites For Last-Minute Shoppers
You Can Profile Those Hard-To-Buy-For People And Still Buy Great Presents For The Best Prices Available

If you're a last-minute shopper whose been procrastinating because you don't know what gift to get for people CBS 2 HD has the answer. There are secret shopping Web sites out there that will help you figure out what to buy and where to get it fast.
Is there someone holding you up from finishing up your holiday shopping?
"The wife. She's very hard to please," one man said.
"My husband, because he buys himself pretty much whatever he wants," a woman added.
Add a crazy schedule and less money to spend this year and last-minute shopping can turn into a real holiday headache. However, now there's help through a number of new sites that help you profile that hard to please person and find the perfect present at the best price.
"They're organized by occasion, by recipient, and a lot of times a sentiment," said Bob Zakrzewski of findgift.com.
At sites like findgift.com you type in the amount you want to spend, the gift receiver's specifics like gender, relationship, age and sometimes interests and hobbies. The site will then suggest dozens of gift ideas, showing you exactly where to buy them.
"For instance, say I'm doing a gift shop for my mom. I know she's into gardening and I know she's into eco-friendly gifts," Zakrzewski said. "I can select gardening, eco-friendly and it'll show me that subset of gifts that are applicable for my mom."
Busy shopper Liz Maverick tried five of the sites that suggest presents, looking for gifts for family and friends she said are not always easy to please.
"What do you get for the guy who lives in Antarctica?" she asked.
Maverick said all of the sites offered her dozens of choices at competitive prices, although she thought sometimes a couple were too generic.
"But then I came across some sites that really were able to sort of personalize down and find gifts for people that I thought they would really like," Maverick said.
And talk about creative, these sites have categories for everything from break-ups and know-it-alls to that hard to buy for co-worker. They even include budget calculators. and they're free.
