What Are The Must-Have Kitchen Gadgets For '08?
by CNET's Natali Del Conte
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
You might not think about purchasing high-tech gadgets and gear for your kitchen. No one wants tomato sauce on an expensive electronic, after all, but there are gadgets that are made to stand up to your busy kitchen life.
CBS 2 and CNet have picked out a few that caught our eyes.
For starters, we have the
Smartshopper Grocery List Organizer. It mounts on your refrigerator and keeps track of the groceries you need. It uses voice command so all you do is go over to it and speak your needs. When you are ready to go the store, you just hit print.
Then there's the
Pandigital HDTV.
It is specifically made to keep in the kitchen because not only does it play high-definition television, it also has a touch-screen browser for you to display recipes as you're cooking. And when it is not in use as a TV or a recipe display, it functions as a digital photoframe.
If you¹re the kind of person who is constantly worried about undercooking your meat and giving everyone salmonella, a digital thermometer is a good idea to keep around. The
Brookstone Grill Alert is wireless and it can take the temperature of your meat from up to 300 feet away so you can carry it with you throughout the house and monitor whatever it is you are cooking.
My last suggestion is the
OOMA Hands-Free VOIP Phone. This is for internet calling, like Skype. It works over your home Internet network so your calling is free.
I picked it specifically for the kitchen because it is hands-free so you can keep slicing and dicing without straining your neck to hold onto a handset.
