Consumer Watch: All-Natural Beauty Products

Shopping in the dairy aisle, perusing exotic oils, or picking up some produce that might be items on your list for dinner, you may be surprised to find items that could also be part of an inexpensive homemade beauty regimen.
"You can walk the aisle in the produce section and find countless things that work for you," said beauty expert Kristen Nelson-Thibeault.
The juice from lemons will brighten your nails. Try mashing up some bananas for a deep hair conditioner, and cucumbers have long been a staple to de-puff your eyes.
"There's a couple of products in nature that actually are great for bringing color to the face in makeup, very inexpensive, easy to find and easy to use," Nelson-Thibeault said.
Rub a q-tip with coconut oil onto a fresh beet, and you get a subtle, natural color to your lips.
"This product actually is a moisturizer, an exfoliant and a cellulite treatment, all in one save a lot of money," Nelson-Thibeault said. The ingredients include coarse sugar, ground coffee, and oil blended and rubbed onto the skin.
For your face, make a paste from yogurt, baking soda, and oat bran for a soothing mask.
Blend together canned pumpkin, rice bran meal, vinegar, and milk. This mixture has both astringent and soothing elements to smooth and brighten skin.
"Delicious to eat and great for your face, this is an anti-aging exfoliater for your face," said Nelson-Thibeault.
Anything that bubbles or foams tends to be drying on the skin. Right from the grocery aisle you can great alternative.
"Cleopatra used to bathe in milk cause it was so good for the skin," said Nelson-Thibeault.
