Queens Center Staying Open All Night For Christmas
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
As the clock ticks down until Christmas day, many stores are pulling out all the stops to accommodate last-minute shoppers. The Queens Center mall will be open 24-hours a day until Christmas Eve.
Serious shoppers will be ecstatic that more than 15 stores at the Queens Center Mall including Macy's, Armani Exchange, and H&M are opening their doors and not closing them until the very last minute. Stores want to make sure you have every single opportunity available to shop!
According to published reports queens center mall accommodated more than 3 million shoppers last December making it one of the nation's most profitable malls per square foot last year. This year they could very well surpass that ranking.
"I always do go and do my last minute shopping on Christmas Eve," said Sarah Kuhn.
The reason behind the 24-hour extravaganza is that retailers are hoping more hours will mean more money by the end of the season, not to mention the fact this first ever all night shopping weekend will allow people to shop during their lunch hour if they work a graveyard shift.
"We may be doing a little bit of the late night shopping," said Natalie Dozier.
Aside from the Macy's at Queens Center, Macy's is pulling all nighters of it's own at various stores in the New York region. Herald Square and seven area locations will be open 24 hours a day for the four day stretch until Christmas - that began 7am Friday morning and lasts until 6pm Christmas Eve.
