Crowds Can Barely Curb Enthusiasm For Larry David

NEW YORK (CBS) ― There's only one Larry David, no matter how many characters resemble him on tv.

David currently stars as himself on the hit HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm. HBO's Web site says the show features verité-style footage of David (playing himself) at home, at work and around town, as he gets into predicaments with fictional and real-life personalities. With cast regulars Jeff Garlin (as manager Jeff Greene) and Cheryl Hines (as wife Cheryl) reprising their roles, the series features appearances by guest celebrities playing themselves or character roles.

Fans aren't the only ones who love the show. The praise started rolling in after the second season, when the show was nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" Emmy award. It really caught fire in the third season, and was nominated for ten Emmys, including Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Larry and Best Comedy Series.

Other honors include a Golden Globe award in 2003 for Best Television Series-Musical or Comedy.

This is hardly David's first time in the spotlight though: he's the co-creator of Seinfeld, and wrote for the show from 1990-1996. He also came back to write the finale in 1998. He was nominated for seven Emmy awards for his writing on Seinfeld, taking the statue home in 1993 for the episode titled, "The Contest."

That's also David's voice you hear whenever George Steinbrenner is seen (from the back) on Seinfeld.

David's discussion was sold out quickly at the Arts & Leisure weekend, but you can see it all right here.
