The family of rock and roll legend Bo Diddley plans to unveil his tombstone during a ceremony in Bronson, southwest of Gainesville, Sunday morning.
Diddley, who lived in nearby Archer, died in June 2008 of heart failure at the age of 79.
On Friday, city officials in Gainseville renamed their down plaza the Bo Diddley Community Plaza. Diddley last played the plaza in 2006. During the ceremony his grandson, Mitchell, thanked the city and donated one of his grandfather's guitars.
In 1987, Diddley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, reports CBS station WFOR-TV in Miami.
In 1998 he received a Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation of the National Academy of Recorded Arts and Sciences.
