Christie Brinkley's Divorce Trial To Begin On L.I.
NEW YORK (AP) ―
Christie Brinkley's messy divorce from her cheating husband is about to get aired in full public view.
A trial opens tomorrow on Long Island over her divorce from her fourth husband, Hamptons architect Peter Cook.
He set off a frenzy in the tabloids after he cheated on Brinkley with an 18-year-old woman who worked at his office. Brinkley filed for divorce from Cook in 2006 after revelations surfaced that he had an affair with the young woman, who's expected to be among the first witnesses when the trial gets under way in a Suffolk County court.
It's rare for divorce cases to go to trial and be open to the public. Brinkley opposed a legal move that would have closed the proceedings to the public. She's apparently comfortable with the prospect that intimate details of her 10-year marriage to Cook will be ripe for public consumption.
