Britney's Fender Bender:
Britney Spears' motoring misfortunes continue.
The pop star was involved in a minor traffic accident late Saturday, but no one was injured and no vehicles were damaged, authorities said.
Spears was driving her 2008 Mercedes on the eastbound Ventura Freeway just east of the 405 freeway about 8:20 p.m. when the mishap occurred, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.
Spears was in stop-and-go traffic when her car struck a 2006 Nissan in front of her that had stopped. The Nissan then pushed forward into another vehicle.
The CHP took a report and no one was cited.
In 2006, Spears was photographed driving with her son on her lap.
A misdemeanor hit-and-run charge from an August 2007 parking lot crash was dismissed after she paid an undisclosed amount to the car's owner.
In October, she pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid driver's license and later obtained a temporary California license.
My Three Sons:
Cate Blanchett has given birth to her third son.
Blanchett, 38, delivered Ignatius Martin Upton in Sydney on Sunday, said Tim McKeough, media relations manager at the Sydney Theatre Company, where Blanchett and her playwright husband are co-artistic directors.
"All are well and very happy," McKeough said Monday.
The baby weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, he said.
Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton have two other sons: Dashiell, 6, and Roman, 3.
The Academy Award-winning actress next appears with Harrison Ford in the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," due in theaters in May.
Potter Publishing Problem:
J.K. Rowling has arrived at a Manhattan courthouse to testify about her lawsuit against a publisher.
Rowling says her copyrights are being violated by a fan who plans to publish a "Harry Potter" encyclopedia.
The showdown between Rowling and Steven Vander Ark is expected to last most of the week. Rowling brought the lawsuit against his publisher, RDR Books, to stop release of the "Harry Potter Lexicon."
She'll spend her breaks in the seclusion of a jury room -- away from any die-hard fans at the courthouse.
Box Office:
The remake of a 1980 slasher movie is this weekend's box office smash.
"Prom Night" took in 22.7 million dollars on its debut weekend.
Opening in second place was 20th Century Fox's "Street Kings." The cop drama starring Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker took in 12 million dollars.
The new movies bumped Sony's "21," which fell to third place with 11 million dollars.
Rounding out the top five were Jodie Foster's "Nim's Island" with nine million and George Clooney in "Leatherheads," which topped six million.
