TriBeCa Overrun With Talk Of Jay-Z & Beyonce

Speculation Rampant As To Whether Couple Is Tying Knot

NEW YORK (CBS) ― It's either a great April Fool's joke or a lesson in discretion for Beyonce and hip hop mogul Jay-Z. Rumors the super-couple were tying the knot in TriBeCa on Friday have created a media frenzy. But some say there's been too much information leaked, so don't believe the hype.

All day Friday and into the evening the cars and SUVs trying to get inside Jay-Z's TriBeCa penthouse had to maneuver their way through the paparazzi. The gossip site TMZ.com was even streaming live video outside Jay-Z's building.

There had been clues of a wedding all day, a fancy tent roof, orchids arriving and even a cryptic YouTube posting from Beyonce's best friends, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, saying they were in a New York City hotel.

At around 7 p.m. Friday gossip Web sites like Us Magazine began announcing guest arrivals. A-list celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin were said to have shown up, along with an unidentified reverend and his wife.

But some just aren't buying it, particularly since the rumors started on April Fool's Day when there was speculation the couple had gotten a marriage license in Scarsdale, but when CBS 2 HD's Scott Rapoport went there to confirm it, no one was talking.

While there is definitely a party going on, some speculate it could be a celebration party for Jay-Z's new $150 million deal with Live Nation.

And with an appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" coming Friday night, would Jay-Z be caught dead dancing with another woman on his wedding night? Even if it is Mary J. Blige?
