Thurman's Mother, Makeup Artist Testify Tuesday

Alleged Stalker Faces 1 Year In Prison If Convicted

NEW YORK (CBS) ― The man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman for more than two years was back in court Tuesday, where testimony was heard from Thurman's mother as well as her makeup artist.

Under direct examination, veteran makeup artist Richard Dean painted an unflattering portrait of the suspect, 37-year-old Jack Jordan, a graduate student charged with misdemeanor stalking and harassment.

Dean revealed more about the strange note Jordan hand delivered to Thurman during a 2005 Manhattan movie shoot, telling jurors: "She had lost color. She was typically very, very calm. But I couldn't quite get her to sit still."

On the set, Dean said that Thurman was rattled, adding: "I could see that her eyes were darting around. She said, 'Is he here?' She didn't want to look at him because it was too distracting."

Thurman's mother, Brigette Thurman, then took the witness stand and, in her thick Swedish accent, described a phone conversation between her husband and Jordan, who had called their Woodstock home.

"He said he and my daughter had a predestined life, that they were meant to be together. He knew it but she didn't know it, and they would be very happy together," she said. "I told him in no uncertain terms this was a fantasy. My daughter had no interest in meeting him, but he said there was no meaning in life for him and he would have to kill himself very soon."

Jordan has admitted to working tirelessly during the last two years to profess his love to the actress. His attorney has said the e-mails, letters, phone calls may be creepy, but they're "harmless" and not criminal.

Thurman's father is expected to take the witness stand on Tuesday afternoon, and the actress herself is scheduled to testify as well, but it's not known yet exactly when.

If convicted, Jordan faces up to one year in prison.
