Tony's Dining Deal: Fiore

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Williamsburg is the hot spot this week for Tony Tantillo's dining deal. Fiore is a brand new restaurant, but it already feels like home.

Having opened just three months ago, Fiore is a great new addition to the up-and-coming neighborhood.

It's comfortable, with a great rustic feel.

"We want to reproduce the interior of an italian kitchen: the feeling, the atmosphere, and of course the food," a chef said.

"That's one of the biggest things right now here in N.Y. and in Brooklyn is somebody feeling at home, the comfort food, and coming in to relax, like they are coming to somebodys house and that is what you want to capture," Tony Tantillo responded.

And to capture quality, they go for the very best in seasonal ingredients, but keep the dishes simple, to keep the prices low.

"Let's start here with the pizza, which we saw you put on the grill," Tantillo said.

The thin crust is made from three different types flours.

"The difference in the other pizza is the cheese is on the bottom of the pie and the sauce is on the top so it doesn't get too wet," the chef said.

"We have to have the lasagna. Meat sauce, traditional bolognese, bechamel and parmesan cheese," the chef explained.

"It melts in your mouth," Tantillo said.

Also on the menu is arapam, grilled and served with roasted potatos with herbs.

The cavatelli is prepared with "ricotta, flour, brocoli-wrapped sausage, garlic, oil, and sprinkle cheese," the chef said.

And for the hearty eaters, there's pizza with lard, parmesan cheese, and herbs. "It's a great breakfast snack," Tantillo said.

One other thing worth noting is Fiore's exceptional wine list, also at great "dining deal" prices.

The way it looks and tastes, you'll be there a long time.
