Dining Deals: 'Hundred Acres' In The Heart Of SoHo
NEW YORK (CBS) ―
A SoHo staple has been remade, into a welcoming and affordable dining destination.
'Hundred Acres' is local, farm fresh and it's where we'll find CBS 2's Tony Tantillo for this week's 'Dining Deal.'
It's in the heart of SoHo, but once you step inside, it's like stepping into the welcoming kitchen of a farmhouse.
It's rustic, comfortable and it immediately tempts your appetite.
"Hundred Acres is our most casual, most accessible restaurant," owner Vicki said. "We really wanted it to be what is really a great neighborhood restaurant, but we use all local ingredients, all from sustainable farms."
"We really wanted [people to say], 'where do you want to have dinner tonight?' 'Let's go to Hundred Acres.'"
At Hundred Acres, you'll find those fresh ingredients being cooked with a simple and creative flair, creating classic, seasonal dishes.
The dishes are beautiful, the portions are great, and the presentations are colorful.
For shellfish fans, there are steamed little neck clams, served with lime, fresh pickled corn, and garlic bread.
There's also a veal meatball sandwich with parmesan cheese, and a slow-roasted tomato sauce.
Another treat is a dish of flavorful, fried, green Jersey tomatoes served with a paprika aoli for dipping and accompanied with an arugula salad.
For the less adventurous, there's a classic house specialty a fresh, juicy cheeseburger with Amish cheddar cheese.
For fish lovers, there's a breaded and baked cod.
The restaurant is located at 38 MacDougal Street in SoHo. They're open for lunch and dinner, 7-days a week.
