Tastings: Tavern On The Green Pumpkin Cheesecake

Tara Lipinsky, WCBSTV.com
NEW YORK (CBS) ― Tastings NYC is coming to Midtown from Nov. 7-9, and Tara Lipinsky is getting a sneak peek, or uh, should I say a sneak taste.

Tavern On the Green's Pastry Chef is showing us how to make a scrumptious Thanksgiving Dessert, a hit at this Internationally recognized restaurant.  And an easy enough recipe even I, who is "kitchen challenged" can make.  You can get a bite sized version of this New York City favorite by joining us at Pier 94 for Tastings NYC.  I hope to see you there.

Holiday Tip:  Oh, and you can actually mix together all of these ingredients days in advance.  So, come the big dinner you just have to bake.

Let Me Know What You Think.

Here's the recipe:

3 ½         lbs           Cream cheese

1              lb            Sugar

5              oz           Sour Cream

9                            Eggs

1 ½         Cup          Heavy Cream

12           oz            Pumpkin puree

1              tsp          Cinnamon

1              tsp          Nutmeg

1              tsp          Allspice

Preheat oven to 250.  Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl.   Blend at medium speed until smoothly combined.  Pour into 10 inch cake pan.   Place cake pan in a roasting pan with sides at least 1  ½  to 2 inches high.  Place in oven.  Pour enough water in the roasting pan to reach half way up the side.  Bake for an hour-and-a-half.
