Blood Reserves Slipping In NYC

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) ― The New York Blood Center says its blood reserves in the New York metropolitan area are dwindling due to the financial meltdown.

It says financial services companies are among the center's largest donors.

The blood center says those companies have cut back or canceled their corporate drives in the face of the financial crisis. Demand for blood, meanwhile, is going up.
