by Dr. Holly Phillips
(CBS)
Skin cancer is by far the most common cancer in the world. Over a million cases are diagnosed every year, and the vast majority are related to sun exposure.
For years people have been soaking up the sun with hardly a thought about the long-term consequences. Nearly 70 percent of Americans don't use any type of sun protection.
Now, more and more studies are revealing the adverse health effects the sun's rays can have on you.
In this CBS 2 special report on skin cancer, you'll find links to interviews with doctors speaking about skin cancer: how to prevent it, find it and treat it. You'll also find a link to a list of the most effective and inffective sunscreens.
