New York City officials are reporting seven more deaths from swine flu, bringing the city's total to 23.
The city health department didn't identify the victims or say when they died in an update posted on its Web site Tuesday. It says the victims were between the ages of 25 to 64 and most had been hospitalized late last month.
Nassau County on Long Island also reported one death from swine flu on Tuesday, a woman in her 20s who had given birth 10 days earlier.
New York City health officials say that at least 16 of the people who have died had underlying health conditions.
The city also said more than 1,000 cases of swine flu have been confirmed.
As of June 15, there were 35,928 confirmed cases and 163 confirmed deaths from swine flu, according to the World Health Organization Web site.
