The New York Giants were short-handed at cornerback for their season opener against the Washington Redskins, missing starter Aaron Ross and his backup.
Kevin Dockery, who was filling in for the injured Ross, was inactive because of a hamstring injury. Ross also is sidelined by a hamstring.
That left New York with three healthy cornerbacks for the game: Corey Webster, Terrell Thomas and rookie Bruce Johnson.
Also inactive for New York were receiver Ramses Barden, offensive linemen Adam Koets, Tutan Reyes and Guy Whimper, defensive lineman Leger Douzable and linebacker Clint Sintim.
Redskins inactives were halfback Marcus Mason, cornerback Kevin Barnes, linebacker Robert Henson, offensive linemen D'Anthony Batiste, Edwin Williams and Chad Rinehart, and defensive linemen Renaldo Wynn and Anthony Montgomery.
