Greater New York Affiliate Of Susan G. Komen For The Cure
The Greater New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure, which raises awareness about, and funding to fight, breast cancer, has scheduled a number of special events in 2009:
- Tickled Pink! April 3, 2009
Tickled Pink! is an annual fashion and social event that is supported primarily by Teens for the Cure, a group of New York City-area breast cancer survivors and their teenaged daughters. Last year's event was held at the Diane von Furstenberg Studio. Highlights of the program are a fashion show of DvF clothes by professional models and survivors and their families.
- Lynne D. Abraham Symposium April 26, 2009
Bi-annual symposium hosted by Komen Greater NYC and featuring experts in the field discussing up-to-the-minute developments in the breast cancer field. This year's Lynne D. Abraham Symposium will be part of a summit involving Komen Greater NYC, Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation. Event will be held at the 92nd Street Y from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Annual Awards Luncheon May 13, 2009
The Annual Awards Luncheon marks the formal announcement of the Komen Greater NYC grants awarded to organizations throughout our service area: New York City, Long Island, and Rockland and Westchester Counties. Awards are also given to individuals and companies who have contributed to the fight against breast cancer. The Luncheon will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton New York.
- City in Pink September 9, 2009
City in Pink is the official kick-off party for Race week, a thank-you party for our sponsors, donors, VIPs, and friends of the Affiliate, and the night that the New York City skyline gets lit up in pink in honor and remembrance of those who have been affected by breast cancer.
- 19th Annual Komen NYC Race for the Cure® September 13, 2009
Our largest annual fundraiser with over 25,000 participants gathering in Central Park for a 5K walk/run to support our vision of a world without breast cancer.
- Ann Taylor Salute to Survivors October 2009
The annual Ann Taylor Salute to Survivors is a cocktail and fashion show with breast cancer survivor models chosen by Komen Greater NYC and Ann Taylor.
- Sponsor Breakfast November 2009
This breakfast event for all Komen sponsors will serve to thank all 2008 sponsors, to encourage their continued support and to bring in new sponsors. Event will be held at Tavern on the Green from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
