The evening is produced for the benefit of Komen Greater NYC by the YPC. The production of the event is being supervised by YPC member, NYU senior and actor/producer Rachel Helson.

"We are so excited about this incredible event," said Dara P. Richardson-Heron, MD, Komen Greater NYC CEO. "Rachel Helson has helped pull together a stellar lineup of Broadway, television and movie talent for what I'm sure will be an unforgettable evening. We're very grateful to the Young Professionals Committee and its chair, Sandy Kozlowski, for producing this benefit and for their commitment to increasing breast cancer awareness."

"When Rachel approached me with this incredible idea," said Sandra L. Kozlowski, YPC chair, "we were fresh from our inaugural event this past January on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. For our next event, we were looking for an equally extraordinary opportunity to help raise breast cancer awareness, as well as funds for Komen Greater NYC by engaging people who have not typically attended Komen events. The Pink Campaign on Broadway was perfect."

The 2007 production of The Rocky Horror Show, benefiting Komen Greater NYC, was covered in the New York Times and marked Rachel Helson's debut as one of the youngest Broadway producers in recent memory. Helson, who hails from Louisville, KY, had four aunts diagnosed with breast cancer, all of whom are alive today. She wanted to actively fight the disease, so in 2004 she founded Acting for the Cure, a production company devoted to the eradication of the disease. She produced The Rocky Horror Show twice, netting $37,000 for the Louisville and Greater NYC Affiliates.

"The Pink Campaign on Broadway combines my two passions — the theater and raising breast cancer awareness, "said Helson. "I wanted to do another event on Broadway; something more pertinent than The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I asked four playwrights to write short plays and contacted some celebrities and professionals in the industry, asking them to get involved.

The Young Professional Committee was founded by Sandra Kozlowski and is comprised of rising executives and professionals working together to achieve Komen's vision of a world without breast cancer. For more information, visit www.komennyc.org/YPC.

The Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was founded in 1990 and has raised close to $50 million to date. The organization is dedicated to the greater New York City metropolitan area, disbursing up to seventy-five percent of its net income to local programs offering breast health education, screening and treatment in the five boroughs of New York City, on Long Island and in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Twenty-five percent of its revenues fund national peer-reviewed research programs.

In 2009, Komen Greater NYC is awarding nearly $4 million in grants — $2.7 million to support 40 community-based organizations that provide breast health programs to underserved women and $1.3 million for national peer-reviewed research.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure — Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested over $1.3 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
