Everyone is welcome in God's house - even the animals. Two former race horses fled their Long Island stables, and ended up a mile down the road, just a little closer to God.
Owner Michael Dombek has a date in court after his racing horses, Oyster and Jenni, broke down a gate, escaped their barn and trotted down the busy Jericho turnpike filled with startled motorists.
"[It is] one of the busiest roads around! I was amazed they weren't hit by a car," Dombek told CBS 2 HD. "I would have thought they would travel by woods, not roads!"
Some people snapped pictures in their cell phones, others watched in awe. The horses proceeded 1.3 miles in the urban setting, turning down Ellison Avenue, where Pastor Suk Kim had just delivered a sermon.
Rev. Kim, of the Korean Evangelical Church of L.I. thought they were police horses, but Oyster and Jenni were escapees on the lam! They ended their adventure at church.
"They were hereĀ four hours until [the] owner came," Rev. Kim said.
