Teen In Suburban NY Sentenced To 25 Years To Life
TRENTON (AP) ―
A teenage gang member who shot a rival in the back of the head has been sentenced in suburban New York to prison for 25 years to life.
Eighteen-year-old Enric Devers of New Rochelle got the maximum prison term allowed by law Tuesday for the killing of 20-year-old Reginald Rogers.
Westchester County Judge Barbara Zambelli called the killing an "outrage." A jury in White Plains convicted Devers of second-degree murder and weapons posession for the April 2007 killing.
Prosecutors said Devers' friend shot Rogers five timesand that Devers stood over him and delivered the final bullet to the rival's head. They said Devers and Rogers were members of opposing gangs.
