Police Search For Men Who Stabbed Off-Duty Officer

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Police are searching for the attackers who stabbed an off-duty housing officer as he left a nightclub in Manhattan early Wednesday.

The injured officer is expected to survive. Police say he is alert, conscious, and talking.

As the officer left the club 'Home,' near 10th Ave. and 28th St. shortly after 3 a.m., with some women, three men came up to the group. The men questioned why so many women were with the officer, then violence ensued.

The off-duty officer was stabbed in the abdomen. Police found the weapon, and the injured officer was able to provide a good description of his attackers.
