Future archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan says he's drawing from personal experience when he reminds congregants to remain humble.
Dolan made the comment Tuesday as he spoke to more than 1,000 students in a Burlington, Wisconsin high school. It was his final scheduled public appearance in Racine County before he joins the New York Archdiocese next month.
He spoke of the importance of maintaining humility. He says he can personally attest that it's not easy, especially ever since Pope Benedict XVI picked him for the New York job two weeks ago.
He says he received a call from President Barack Obama as well as thousands of congratulatory notes. To keep the attention from giving him a swelled head, he says he reminds himself the attention is about Jesus and the church, not about him.
