A.C. Councilman Pleads Guilty To Drunk Driving

Stripped Of License For 7 Months

CAPE MAY, N.J. (AP) ― An Atlantic City councilman is losing his driver's license for seven months after pleading guilty to drunk driving.

Timothy Mancuso entered his plea just before his trial was to begin. He must also pay fines.

The plea puts to rest a strange footnote in a corruption case that was odd even for Atlantic City.

Two councilmen and three other men are charged with luring another councilman to a hotel in 2006 and secretly videotaping him having sex with a prostitute.

The night the charges were announced last year, Mancuso joined some of his colleagues to celebrate. Early the next morning, he was charged with driving while intoxicated after he drove his car over the Boardwalk and onto the beach.

The trial was moved to Cape May.
