Blind Poodle Rescued From NY Storm Drain
MASTIC, N.Y. (CBS) ―
A blind poodle who fell into a storm drain has been happily reunited with her Long Island owner.
Maggie, who's 13, spent about one hour inside the muddy drain in Mastic on Saturday. Suffolk County police officers scooped her up using a large expandable pole with a large net.
Police say the drain was about 12-18 feet deep.
The white poodle was returned to her owner, Patricia Fogerty, a resident of Shirley.
The pooch did not appear to have been hurt.
As of the last census, Shirley had a population of at least 26,395.
