Bloomberg: No Plans To Help Clinton With Debt

NEW YORK (AP) ― Mayor Michael Bloomberg is throwing a party to welcome Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton back from the presidential campaign trail, but said he has no plans to help her with her campaign debt.

The fete Monday evening at Gracie Mansion, where Big Apple martinis and barbecue are on the menu, is not a fundraiser for Clinton. She is still working to retire millions in debt from the hard-fought Democratic primary that she lost to Sen. Barack Obama.

Bloomberg said he's hosting the reception to welcome her back from the 18-month-long fight, where he said she worked with her heart and soul.

The independent billionaire mayor did not endorse her or anyone in the primary, and has not yet said whom he'll be supporting in the general election
