Tenafly Triple Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

TENAFLY, N.J. (AP) ― The Long Island man charged with stabbing three members of a family to death in their New Jersey home pleaded not guilty yesterday.

Kang-Hyuk Choi of Valley Stream wore an orange prison jumpsuit and a cast on his right arm that extended from his wrist to his elbow during his arraignment yesterday. He did not speak except to quietly confer with a translator.

New Jersey State Superior Court Judge Harry Carroll did not set bail for Choi pending further investigation.

Choi is charged with killing his 27-year-old friend then waiting hours in the friend's room before killing the friend's mother and uncle.

Authorities said evidence in his friend's diary led them to California, where the 32-year-old was arrested Sunday.

Authorities believe a fight over money led to the stabbing deaths.
