NYC Woman's Throat Slashed In Front Of Her Child

NEW YORK (AP) ― Police in Brooklyn are looking for a killer after a young mother's throat was slashed in front of her young child early Monday morning.

A 27-year-old woman who lived in the Roosevelt houses on Pulaski had her car parked on Hart Street, just outside the building, when witnesses say the woman was suddenly attacked as she was placing her child inside the car.

"That's something in the movies, you hear that in the movies," said resident Jeff Hardy.

Police sources say detectives were seeking a boyfriend for questioning.

A woman who lives in the apartment next door to the victim on the 9th floor, where police were searching apartment 9E for possible evidence, said there were lots of visitors in the apartment.

"There were so many people entering there, moving, and coming in and going out. So the last people who came in, I don't even know who it was," she told CBS 2.

In addition to the victim's apartment being searched, the car, a Toyota Yarus was taken away to be processed, in hopes of building a case against the killer

The child in the car was apparently unharmed. Sgewas taken to Woodhull Hospital as a precaution.
