3 Hospitalized After Adirondacks Bus Accident

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (CBS) ― Three passengers remain hospitalized after a fatal bus accident on an Adirondack highway.

Police are investigating what caused the crash around 3:15 a.m. Sunday on the Adirondack Northway near Lake George, about 60 miles north of Albany. The bus tipped onto its side, slid and veered into a rock ledge.

The bus, operated by Angelic Tours and Shuttles Inc. from Fayetteville, N.C., was headed north from New York City to bring passengers to see loved ones at state prisons.

State Police identified the passenger who died as 33-year-old Curtrice E. Gravitt of New York City.

A spokesman for Glens Falls Hospital says three passengers were admitted. Two were in fair condition following surgery and the third passenger was in serious condition.
