LI Cabbie Shot In The Face In Road Rage Encounter

HEMPSTEAD (CBS) ― A Long Island cab driver is recovering after being shot in the face during an apparent road rage incident.

Police say the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Long Island Railroad Station in Hempstead Village.

According to authorities, the cabbie was sitting in his taxi when a man driving a gray Toyota Corolla pulled beside him and opened fire, hitting the victim once in the jaw, before driving off.

The two men had reportedly been involved in an argument earlier. Cops don't know what initially caused the argument.
