Firefighters Contain Blaze At N.J. Oil Refinery

Linden Residents Say They Heard Explosion

LINDEN, N.J. (CBS) ― An early morning fire broke out at an oil refinery in New Jersey.

Linden firefighters responded to the 5 a.m. blaze, however it was the on-site fire brigade that extinguished the flames around 6 a.m.

Residents from neighboring Elizabeth, New Jersey said they heard an explosion at the facility.

The extent of the damage at the Conoco Oil Refinery, as well as any injuries, was unknown Sunday morning.

Residents in the area did not have to evacuate.
