Were there signs of a violent streak in Philip Markoff's past?
A former classmate of the accused "Craigslist Killer" is revisiting her memories of Markoff, with some troubling conclusions.
"He pushed me up against the wall and tried kissing me, and I pushed him away, I was trying futilely to push him away," Morgan Houston says.
In a chilling interview with the Daily News, Houston, a former classmate of Markoff, recounts a disturbing incident from their time as pre-meds at SUNY Albany.
After a night of drinking, she says Markoff made an unwanted advance and, despite her please, he wouldn't stop.
"I said, 'no, Phil, get off of me. I'm not interested in you what are you trying to do?'" Houston says. "I couldn't' physically get him off of me."
Houston says a friend intervened to pull Markoff away, and she even joined Markoff as study partners.
While she continued to spend time with Markoff, Houston conveniently tucked the memory away until now. In retrospect, she says, it frightens her.
"We're starting to hear different things now from people that are coming out, and it's scary," Houston says.
Police say Markoff, now a medical student at Boston University, targeted women who advertised massage services on Craigslist for robberies in order to feed a gambling addiction.
Now, police have charged Markoff in the brutal murder of 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman.
Brisman's friends and family gathered at a Manhattan funeral parlor Wednesday night to say goodbye.
"She was a very outgoing, loveable person," family friend Ed Haynes says. "It's just tragic."
In another disturbing revelation, police say that Markoff kept mementos of his victims, including their underwear.
And Houston recalls a bizarre costume he once wore.
"I remember Halloween sophomore year, he was the mammogram guy," Houston said. "You know, something that you'd get in a store. It's a box that said 'Free Mammograms Here.'"
Markoff eventually met and became engaged to another woman, who is publicly defending him.
Meanwhile, a friend of Julissa Brisman says she's glad Markoff is behind bars.
"He's not gonna give her her life back but at least he's in jail now and he's gonna get what he deserves," said Jenny Guzman, the victim's cousin.
The funeral home told CBS 2 HD Brisman's family is not planning to hold a formal funeral service.
