Is it strike three for the so-called "craigslist killer?"
Julissa Brisman was found shot in a Boston hotel room, after advertising a massage service on craigslist.
Brisman was one of two victims targeted in Boston hotels.
Now police believe the attacker may have struck again overnight in Warwick, R.I.
Did whoever kill Brisman on Tuesday at the Marriott Copley Place also rob a woman in a Providence, R.I.-area hotel on Thursday? The husband briefly chased the attacker, but then returned to check on his wife, police said. The woman told investigators she worked at The Cadillac Lounge, a Providence strip club.
No one was seriously hurt.
"She may have been involved in some sort of a sex-for-money transaction at the point in time when she had the confrontation with this alleged assailant," said Warwick Police Chief Stephen McCartney.
Investigators have released surveillance photos from both Boston hotels showing a young, clean-cut man with blonde hair who they say is a "person of interest" in both attacks.
Police in Warwick describe their suspect as a clean-cut white man, about 6-feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, with blonde hair. He was wearing a black coat and blue jeans.
Of the women attacked, the only one killed Brisman -- is from New York City.
Brisman, 26, was an aspiring actress and model, but it seems that to pay the bills she advertised massage services; and friends said she took $1,000-a-night jobs out of town serving drinks and food topless. But those same friends, like photographer Mark Pines, said she was a terrific person.
"She was a bubbly, bright person, very open. Perhaps she was too open, too trusting," Pines said.
Brisman studied acting at the HB Studio in the West Village in 2004 and 2005. She landed acting and modeling jobs soon after. A high point was a role in a public service spot about cell phone safety for pedestrians.
Her mother and sister travelled from New York to Boston as the search for the man in the photos intensifies.
"It's sad that some nut took her life like that and I just hope the police find out who did it," actor Onye Coleman said.
On Friday, at the home where she stayed with her parents, there was a voice on the intercom that did not really want to talk.
The woman robbed Thursday in Rhode Island is from Las Vegas and works as an "exotic dancer." Investigators think the killer is targeting women offering certain services through craigslist because they will be easy targets.
A woman robbed at a Boston hotel last Friday; a woman robbed and killed at another Boston hotel Tuesday; a woman robbed at a Rhode Island hotel on Thursday. All found on craigslist. Police in three states are connecting the dots.
