NYPD Investigate Killing Of B'klyn Used Car Dealer
BROOKLYN (CBS) ―
Police are investigating the killing of a used car salesman who was fatally shot during a possible attempted robbery at a Brooklyn dealership.
Thirty-five-year-old Bobby Carnival was shot at the Cars on Utica dealership near Avenue M in the Flatlands section.
A second man was also wounded in Saturday night's shooting. Police have not identified him.
There have been no arrests.
Friends and family said Carnival was the type of man you could always count on.
Unfortunately, the person that shot and killed the husband and father of two, likely didn't count on him walking into the car dealership he owned in Brooklyn.
Police are collecting evidence at the used car lot, where the owner of the business was murdered in cold blood.
"He was a real family man," family friend Meredith Trinetto said. "He did anything you needed. He'd give you the shirt off his back."
Trinetto told CBS 2 about the three big loves of 35-year-old Carnival's life his family, softball, and cars.
"He was fighting to stay alive, and they were telling him, 'you fight to stay alive for your family,'" Trinetto said.
Carnival is survived by his wife Diane, 6-year-old son Bobby Jr., and 2-year-old daughter Brianna.
"I'm at a loss for words right now, I can't believe it," friend Brian Perkins said. "I've known him my whole life. It's a tragedy."
He said police are still trying to figure out who fired the first shot. Witnesses say the other two suspects managed to leave the scene before authorities arrived.
