NJ Dentist Pleads Guilty In Medicaid Fraud Case
FREEHOLD, N.J. (CBS) ―
A New Jersey dentist has pleaded guilty to defrauding Medicaid of nearly $100,000 by billing for procedures that were not performed.
Joshua Prensky of Fair Lawn entered the plea Friday in state Superior Court in Monmouth County. Prensky was employed by New Jersey Mobile Dentist of Colts Neck. The firm contracts with individual dentists to provide dental services in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Sentencing was scheduled for Nov. 20. The 33-year-old Prensky faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $15,000 fine. As part of his plea, Prensky agreed to pay restitution and a civil penalty of more than $84,000.
Officials say the investigation by the state Office of Insurance Fraud is ongoing.
As of the last census, Freehold had a population of at least 31,537.
