Masked Men Attack 62-Year-Old Woman In Her Home

BROOKLYN (CBS) ― Police say two masked attackers victimized a 62-year-old woman in her Brooklyn home, sending her to the hospital.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday night on Gerritsen Avenue in the Gerritsen Beach area. The attack left the woman with a broken rib. She was taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition.

The woman lived on the 2nd floor of her home. CBS 2 has learned the woman was walking downstairs to let her cat out, when she was assaulted by a man wearing a ski mask and dark clothing. The man, and an accomplice tried to force their way into the home, but the woman screamed loud enough to attract the attention of her husband.

The two men fled when he came downstairs.
