NYPD Needs Your Help Finding 2 Male Assailants
CONEY ISLAND (CBS) ―
The hunt is on for two suspects who followed an elderly woman from the bank, tied her up and terrorized her. CBS 2 HD has obtained surveillance video of the suspects.
Behind a Coney Island apartment door covered in police fingerprint dust lives a 73-year-old woman who survived a terrifying ordeal.
Police say she was attacked by two suspects who are seen in the surveillance video.
Police ask that you take a close look at these two men. They are wanted for stalking, tying up and robbing the elderly woman.
The darker skinned suspect is about 6 feet tall. The lighter skinned suspect is about 5-10.
It is believed they observed the woman outside this bank at the corner of 5th Street and Neptune Avenue and followed her home and up to her door. As she put the key into the lock they forced their way in, pulled a gun, tied her up and then took her jewelry, ATM card and forced her to tell them her pin number.
"That's a horrible thing. It's scary. I hope they get caught," one neighbor said.
Neighbors say along with justice for the victim and the return of her belongings, they also want beefed up security.
"The majority of the building is elderly and that's why I feel like they're a big target," neighbor Lisa Gelfand said. "Because they can't really put up any resistance or anything."
